This is the Hydroid Aquabreather. Is it a rebreather? No. Is it SCUBA? Yes, but not as you’ve ever seen it before!

Without a doubt, this is the one scuba diving product for 2019 that has created the most buzz at DEMA Show 2019. Everyone is talking about it on the exhibit floor and at the cocktail parties. It is truly out there, so I had to take a closer look…

Here is the Hydroid Aquabreather’s website if you want more information:

The crowd for the pool demonstration was like nothing I’d ever seen at DEMA. People were either queuing up to watch a man drown, or they were eyeing the future of scuba diving.

I’m chatting with Egor from Hydroid about this wacky invention. As far as my opinion on it… you’ll have to wait for me to go scuba diving with it and give it a review!

Part HALO, part NASA, part Darth Vader, the Hydroid Aquabreather uses proprietary canisters of a chemical blend that, once popped, gives off Oxygen. This is then cycled through your helmet and you can dive to a max. depth of 42m.If you want to take a PERSONALIZED dive course at any level with Divers Ready, you can contact us here:

DEMA SHOW 2019: The One New Scuba Gear Everyone Is Talking About!

The annual Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) show is the ultimate destination for scuba diving enthusiasts and professionals all over the world. The event, which took place this year from November 13 to 16 in Orlando, Florida, showcased the latest trends and gear in the diving industry.

One piece of equipment that stood out from the rest was the new underwater communication device – the Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) Buddy Phone D2. This revolutionary device allows two divers to communicate with each other up to 600 feet apart, without the need for any physical connection.

The Buddy Phone D2 is a revolutionary dual-channel system that is easy to use and ensures clear communication between divers, making it easier to stay in touch underwater. This device also eliminates the need for hand signals, which can be difficult to interpret, particularly in low visibility conditions.

The communication device is not only popular among recreational divers but also among commercial divers who require communication while working underwater. It reduces the risks of miscommunication, which can often result in serious accidents in the unpredictable and perilous underwater environment.

The Buddy Phone D2 features a 32-hour battery life, a range of up to 600 feet, and easy-to-use buttons, making it the perfect solution for divers who want a simple and reliable underwater communication system. The device is also compact and lightweight, making it ideal to take on any diving trip.

The Buddy Phone D2 is just one example of the many great new products showcased at this year’s DEMA show. The show is an excellent opportunity for diving enthusiasts and professionals to discover new products, connect with industry experts, and participate in workshops and training sessions.

In conclusion, the new OTS Buddy Phone D2 is a game-changer in the diving industry, making communication between divers easier than ever before. Its reliability, longevity, and lightweight design make it an excellent addition to any diver’s gear. It is no surprise that the device is the talk of the scuba diving world, and we can expect to see it feature in many diving trips in the future.
